Tricia Minty is an award winning, international performed composer of concert music and music for film, animation, commercials/trailers, and video games. Her chamber ensemble piece “Wicked Dreams” won the 2010 Thanatopolis Music Prize award. The piece was premiered at the Thanatopolis Exhibition at I-Park in East Haddam, Connecticut. In addition to the Thanatopolis Music Prize award, her electronic piece “The Closing Corridor” was selected to be part of the 2010 ICMC mix of 360 degrees of 60×60, and premiered in the 2010 Dance Parade on Broadway in New York City. In 2010, she was commissioned to write her orchestra piece “Interval of Times” for the California State University of Fresno Orchestra directed by Dr. Thomas Loewenheim. It was premiered in May, 2011.

In 2012, she scored the music and created/recorded all of the sound effects for the feature film “Bigfoot’s Wild Weekend” produced by Harmur Entertainment. “Bigfoot’s Wild Weekend” won third place at the first annual Lake Charles Film Festival and was available for video on demand in the U.S.A for several months.

In 2013, she began scoring music for an ongoing award winning web-series “The Galactic Adventures of John Neptune” produced by Neptune Cinema.” The first season of the web-series has been selected and featured at many film festivals. It has won numerous awards including “Best Web-Series” at The Galactic Film Festival and Idyllwild International Festival of Cinema. Tricia’s music score for the web-series also won the “Daisy Rock Guitar Award for Excellence in Scoring by a Woman” at the Idyllwild International Festival of Cinema. In addition, she also scored the music for Neptune Cinema’s horror comedy short film, “OMZ!” which was also shown at the 2014 “RIP Horror Film Festival.”

Most recently she completed scoring music for a mockumentary film about a brick building competition called, “Brick Madness.” The film premiered in Fresno, CA in August, 2017.  It has since been shown in various film festivals throughout U.S.A.  The film was also screened this year at the Lego exposition in Chicago, “Brickworld.”

She grew up in the small beach town of San Clemente in southern Orange County, California. She earned her Bachelors degree in Music Composition under the study of Dr. Kenneth Froelich in addition to a second major in Speech Language Pathology at California State University, Fresno. She has also studied under various other composers for film and games including Ed Kalnins, Elizabeth Sellers, Garry Schyman, Jim Dooley, Jeff Atmajian, and others. Recently, she completed her thesis for her Masters degree on a music therapy treatment method for childhood language disorders.
